Following negotiations, Sentinel 0-6-0DH, works number 10180 of 1964, is being added to the collection.

Presently at the Rutland Railway Museum in private ownership, much restoration has been carried out by its owner following its acquisition from the Heritage Shunters Trust in 2006, though it still requires completion of some mechanical work - primarily refitting the torque converter - before it can be run again. It is not expected to move from Cottesmore until purchase is completed later in the year.

10180 is a former NCB South Yorks Area locomotive, having spent most of its working life at Cadeby Colliery, near Conisborough.

The Sentinel diesel locomotive range appeared in 1959, the first 0-6-0 "Chris Moody" at Teesside in 1960. The marque trounced other locomotive manufacturers, winning a Capital Goods Design Award in 1964. The addition of the Sentinel is a logical follow on from steam Sentinel "George" and fills a significant gap in the collection.
