A Happy New Year to all our visitors.
By way of a catch-up, Andrew broke a bone in his hand while working on somebody else's loco on December 13th, resulting in 4 hours in A&E and a hi-vi pot over his hand and fore-arm until late January. This has curtailed his activities somewhat, and all this snow (see here and here) has not been conducive to making much progress. Nevertheless a visit to Scunthorpe in the latter half of December saw the driver's brake valve and fuel injection line on Beverley reassembled, with Andrew acting in "Supervisor Mode".
14 901 (D9524) has been run up over Christmas/New Year week - at this point the alternator did not appear to be charging and this will be attended to when the weather improves. Nevertheless at long last the Cummins 855 destined for the 03 D2128 has been removed from the generator and bolted down to a transit skid ready for removal - see photo here.
Negotiations have been pending on one or more additional stores vans - thanks to all those who have responded.
Finally, all the e-mails that come through the site get routed into Andrew's yahoo account - however, he has just noticed that they all appear to be treated as Spam by yahoo. If therefore you were expecting a reply but not yet seen one, please try him again and he promises to look more carefully amongst the offers for Viagra, russian brides and body-component enlargement that are once again clogging up the internet!!
