PalVan

These palletvans were special conversions of conventional box vans for the MoD to ease loading with a forklift. Double doors at opposite corners make them much more accessible but in service, uneven weight distribution from loading was blamed for derailments and the fleet condemned to internal use at MoD depots.

Andrew obtained this one as a stores van from the Rutland Railway Museum.
